Before you buy
Questions, answered straight
Including the one that matters most: no, the courses we sell ourselves are not accredited. Here is exactly what they are.
Accreditation and what the certificate proves
- Are these courses accredited?
No. Courses sold directly by Kwalifi are non-accredited short courses. They lead to a Certificate of Completion, which is not a national qualification: it carries no NQF level, no credits, no unit standards and no accreditation number, and we make no accreditation claim for it.
Accredited qualifications do exist on this platform, but they are delivered by accredited training providers under their own accreditation, on their own branded portal, and the certificate carries their provider number. Those are marked as such wherever they appear.
- Will my client or principal contractor accept it?
We can’t answer for them, and we won’t pretend to — so ask them before you buy, and ask precisely. What the certificate states is this: that the named person completed a specific course and passed its final assessment on a given date, and that anyone can confirm it from the register in a few seconds.
If what you have been asked for is an accredited qualification against a registered unit standard, a Certificate of Completion is not that, and no amount of ours will substitute. If what you have been asked for is evidence that a worker was trained on a topic and proof that the evidence is genuine, that is what this is built to be.
- How does the QR code check work?
Every certificate carries a QR code and a verification address. Scanning the code — or typing the certificate number into the lookup page — opens a public page showing who earned it, for which course, and when, checked live against our register at the moment you look.
No account, no app and no phone call: it works signed out, on a phone, at a gate. If a certificate has been revoked or has expired, the page says so plainly instead of showing a tick. If the number does not exist, it says that too.
- Does the certificate expire?
A Certificate of Completion we issue does not carry an expiry date, and it stays verifiable at its published address even if you stop using the platform. Where a certificate does carry an expiry — some accredited qualifications do — the verification page shows the date and stops showing a tick once it has passed.
Taking a course
- What do I need, and when does access open?
A phone, tablet or computer with a web browser and an internet connection. There is nothing to install and no classroom to book. Courses are written to be read on a phone on site — one question per screen, with an explanation every time an answer is wrong.
Access opens as soon as our payment provider confirms the payment, usually within seconds, and it does not expire. If payment went through but the course has not opened, sign in and look under My learning — and if it still is not there, tell us and we will open it by hand.
- What happens if I fail the assessment?
You try again, at no extra cost. Each course shows its own pass mark — 70% on ours — and we keep your best score rather than your last, so an attempt can never set you back. The certificate issues when you pass, not when you finish, and there is no limit on how many attempts that takes.
- Can I put my whole crew through a course?
Yes. Tell us what your site needs — how many people and which topics — and we will tell you what is available now and what is being written. If you are an accredited provider wanting to deliver your own qualifications under your own accreditation and brand, say so and we will talk about a portal.
Paying and refunds
- How do I pay?
By card or EFT, in South African rand, through our payment provider Paystack. Prices are shown in rand on every course and that is what you are charged. We never see or store your card details.
- Can I get a refund?
Yes, within seven days of payment, in full, provided you have not completed the final assessment or been issued a certificate — your right to cancel an electronic transaction under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. After that, or once a certificate has been issued, the purchase is not refundable, because the course was delivered in full the moment you paid.
Separately from any of that: if a course does not work as described, you get a full refund regardless of how long ago you bought it. Read the refund policy, then email us from the address you bought with. We reply within two business days.
- What do you do with my personal information?
We collect the minimum needed to enrol you, mark your work and issue a certificate, and we process a vendor’s learners only on that vendor’s instruction. Your name and the course appear on your certificate’s verification page, because a certificate nobody can check is worthless — nothing else about you does. The privacy notice sets out what we hold, who processes it, how long we keep it and how to ask for it back.
Still not sure?
Ask before you pay rather than after. We reply within two business days, and we would rather talk you out of the wrong course than sell it to you.
